The Omen 16-wf0083dx is a beefy slab of hardware, meant to spend most of its time sitting on a desk and only occasionally thrown in a bag. With its 16.1-inch screen, it tips the scales at 5.29 pounds with a thickness of just under an inch.
But what you lose in portability, you gain in power. This beast of a gaming laptop is rocking an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor with 24 cores, and while it’s a year older than Intel’s newest designs, it’s still one of the most powerful CPUs you can find in a laptop.
The graphics card inside isn’t top-of-the-line, but it’s good. An Nvidia RTX 4060 with 8GB of GDDR6 memory should handle pretty much every game you throw at it, but you might have to turn down the effects on some newer AAA titles. If you’re into e-sports, it has more than enough juice to power the laptop’s 1080p screen at its fastest 165Hz output.
Other highlights include 16GB of DDR5 system memory and a 1TB Gen4 M.2 SSD, both of which can be upgraded easily. The Omen 16 features two M.2 slots and two user-accessible SO-DIMM slots, so bumping it up to its maximum 32GB of RAM and 4TB of storage (2TB in each slot) according to the service manual should be simple.
This Omen 16 gaming laptop is also packed with ports, including double USB-C, double USB-A, and full-sized HDMI and Ethernet ports. No need to pack a dongle with this thing.
