Ultrawide monitors are absolutely awesome, but they can also be prohibitively expensive—unless it’s the Samsung 34-inch ViewFinity S5, now available for $250 (which is $130 off its regular price point). This is the cheapest the ViewFinity S5 has ever been, making it a fantastic budget-friendly upgrade for any setup.
This 34-inch Samsung ultrawide monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio, providing a wider view than usual 16:9 monitors and allowing you to see more on a single screen. It’s the perfect solution for multitaskers, whether you need multiple browsers side by side, want to keep a work chat window tucked in the corner, etc.
One of this monitor’s standout features is its support for HDR10, which means it displays over a billion colors with great depth and accuracy.
Another nifty feature of the Samsung ViewFinity S5 is the ambient light sensor that adjusts the screen’s brightness based on the lighting conditions of your room. Proper monitor brightness helps with eye strain, and the Eye Saver Mode also reduces excessive blue light, further minimizing eye strain.
The 100Hz refresh rate makes this monitor a good choice for gamers, too. It’s far from a full-blown gaming monitor, but you can still expect smooth visuals, reduced lag, and reduced motion blur.
While we haven’t reviewed the Samsung ViewFinity S5, the monitor has 4.4/5 stars on Amazon out of nearly 2,400 reviews. Buyers appreciate the monitor’s size, color, and value, but mainly consider it to be more of an option for everyday use than hardcore gaming.
Again, this is its best-ever price. If you’ve been thinking about getting your first ultrawide monitor, it’d be a shame pass up this opportunity to upgrade your home office with the Samsung ViewFinity S5.
